Safely Paint On Garage Roof
I do not like being on steep roofs and would probably not use this on anything steeper than 6 12.
Safely paint on garage roof. Purchase a brush extender which allows you to clip the brush securely to the end of an extension pole. You will need to edge and roll each coat of paint. I m worried about safety. Or so from the ground you may feel safe working with just roof brackets and planks in place.
So far we have figured out how to paint most of the house safely. Apply a generous amount of paint across the entire roof. Wash the brush or roller you used for the primer or get a new one. Do you have ideas on how to safely paint such a high area.
Very helpful in painting a gable end over a garage exactly as shown in old alex s photo. Painting this section of your house that has a steep roof is impossible without a way to safely stay on it. In most instances your garage ceiling will not need a further coat of paint. But for the ultimate in roof safety especially on steeper roofs or big jobs invest in a safety harness and rope.
For spraying use a spray tip extender. My roofs are 5 12 so pretty easy to walk around on i get up there many times a year to blow out the gutters and sweep my chimney. Allow the paint to dry between each coat so you can properly assess coverage. The house is on a hillside and the driveway slopes downward.
Brush and sprayer extenders whether you re using a brush or an airless sprayer to paint the gable an extension tool can help you reach past the point your ladder will reach. We are looking for a lift or something to paint this last gable. Again work from your ladder as much as possible. Probably 36 40 feet high.
Apply a coat of paint to the entire roof. There is a simple inexpensive method that will allow you to safely work off your roof and access the areas you need to paint. Step 1 mark the center of your 2 by 4 inch board using a tape measure and pencil.
